MIPCOM 2009: SevenOne International To Present More Than 40 New Fiction Programs, Magazines and Documentaries
Munich, September 29, 2009. SevenOne International will be presenting more than 40 new fiction programs as well as magazines and documentaries at MIPCOM in Cannes from October 4 to 9. The ProSiebenSat.1 Groups programming sales company offers TV movies, series, family entertainment, shows and event programs. Highlights include catastrophe events such as Sea of Death and Factor 8 and the true story thriller The Night a Village Vanished. The portfolio also comprises the long-running series S1NGLE and The Medical Intern, as well as 18 movies like Gonger II and upcoming TV events such as the The Frontier.

TV Events: In the CGI-loaded event Sea of Death (produced by Crazy Film) an accident occurs on an oil platform and tourists start to die. While descending into the inky black depths of the North Sea to determine the cause of the outbreak, the scientists witness a breathtaking yet deadly spectacle of nature - completely unaware of the bomb attached to their submarines hull.
High-budgeted Factor 8 (produced by Wiedemann & Berg Filmproduktion) is a thrilling story about the breakout of an unknown disease on board of an aircraft on its way from Thailand to Germany. The movie by Academy Award-winning producers Wiedemann & Berg is fast-paced and thrilling, showing how life turns into hell for the passengers on board.
The thriller The Night a Village Vanished (produced by Zeitsprung Entertainment, coproduced by TVN Productions) is based on a true story. An entire village has to get past heavily armed soldiers with shooting orders to escape to the West. Outperforming the channel average by 77 percent, the movie reached a market share of 19.1 percent (14-49).
Movies: It is the return of the evil: Gonger is still seeking his bloody vengeance. The mystery movie Gonger 2 (produced by win win Film-, Fernseh- und Mediaproduktion) is not for the faint-hearted. In Shadows of Justice (produced by Cinecentrum) a child molester has to be tracked down by Marie (played by Yvonne Catterfeld). Kill your Darling (produced by Phoenix Film) is an innovative multimedia project that combines Free-TV with interactive Online and Mobile features telling a fast-paced story of a merciless serial killer known as the Face Slasher. Audience-drawing romantic comedies and dramas complete SevenOne Internationals movie portfolio. Naked Truth (produced by Janus Film) doubled the Sat.1s channels market share with a rating of 20.3 percent (14-49). Other success titles include the movies Its never too late (produced by Janus Film) and Wedding against all Odds (produced by Kaminski.Stiehm.Film GmbH) and a new Dream Hotel: Sri Lanka (produced by Lisa Film).
Fairy Tales: Now it is time to go Arabian with a very special version of One Thousand and One Nights"! In Sheherazade (produced by Rat Pack Filmproduktion), a cast of first-class comedians parodies some of the most famous tales, such as Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.
Series: In the detective series The Last Cop (produced by Granada), Mick wakes from a coma after 17 years. Now the hard-headed cop is back in action, but the world around him has completely changed. The quick-witted dramedy series S1NGLE (produced by FourOne Media) is headed for its second season. Once again, it is all about finding Mr. Right for the three girlfriends Stella, Fatima and Nienke. The Dutch success dramedy series The Medical Intern (produced by FourOne Media) follows the young doctors Elin, Marjolein and Hugo making their ways through the struggles at the hospital and in their private life. On Net 5 The Medical Intern enchants Dutch viewers for the fourth season by now.

The gripping two-part event thriller The Frontier (produced by teamWorx) draws a drastic scenario: terrorist attacks intensify the global crises and the chaotic situation quickly approaches civil war status. Imagine that you and your two best friends are on the run with the authorities in hot pursuit, your father turns out to be your worst enemy and you meet the love of your life: this is the story of The Fugitives (produced by teamWorx). The Secret of Loch Ness II (produced by Rat Pack Filmproduktion) is family entertainment at its best. In the movie, a new adventure awaits Tim and his animated friend Oki, the 605-year-old druid. Based on an international bestseller by Iny Lorentz the event The Whore (produced by TV60 Filmproduktion) is set in the Middle Ages and tells the story of a young woman (Alexandra Neldel), who is accused to be a whore. In the fantastic family movie Spook Inn (produced by Askania Media Filmproduktion) a man who has lost his wife decides to open an inn in a very old and bedraggled house. But what he does not know is that in the cellars of the old house a villain and his accomplices have been buried alive 300 years ago. The thriller The Village (produced by UFA Fernsehproduktion) is set in the town Salem, where seemingly happy girls are killing themselves on their 18th birthday. In Blackout, (produced by Constantion Television) a power outage plunges the city into deadly chaos, while other problems arise between the involved engineers, leading to an action-filled catastrophe story.
Magazine / Documentaries: A picture is worth a thousand words: In the one-hour reality documentary Cover story (produced by Eyeworks) the journalist Lauren Verster follows top professional photographers on their search for the most fascinating shot. For the first time audiences will be treated to a behind-the-scenes peek into a world they have never been before. In Formula One: Abu Dhabi. Yas Marina Circuit (produced by Story House Productions, co-produced by GTV) a once isolated strip of desert in Abu Dhabi becomes the world's most spectacular Formula One venue - the Yas Marina Circuit! This special filmed entirely in HDTV follows the monumental 18-months construction project that unites bold architecture with a unique vision of Formula One racing. Desert Tears (produced by ProSieben) deals with a terrifying ritual performed on young girls worldwide: female genital mutilation, frequently accomplished with only a razor blade or a piece of glass. The victims endure excruciating pain and death is not uncommon. The topic has attracted broad concern thanks to the bestseller Desert Rose by the Somalian topmodel Waris Dirie as well as the recently released film under the same title.
