ProSiebenSat.1 Stations Brought Out More First-Time and Young Voters

Unterföhring, March 10, 2010. Taking responsibility, with stars to provide encouragement and glamour it was a successful election year for the ProSiebenSat.1 Groups German stations. In a major TV campaign on SAT.1, ProSieben, kabel eins and N24, celebrities like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Stefan Raab, Sonya Kraus, Kai Pflaume and Sara Nuru encouraged young and first-time voters to go vote in the 2009 Bundestag elections and forsa confirms that it worked!

The representative forsa study, commissioned by SevenOne Media, like the recently published official figures from the federal election manager for voter participation (Representative Bundestag Election Statistics 2009), shows that participation among voters between 18 and 49 who were aware of the Go Vote! campaign was 73 percent well above the average of 67.4 percent. Young voters between 18 and 29 especially were more likely to carry out their responsibility. Voter participation was nearly 8 percent higher among those who were aware of the campaign than among those who didnt know it.

Said Andreas Bartl, the Executive Board Member for German Free TV at the ProSiebenSat.1 Group: Im delighted that our campaign was able to make more first-time and young voters aware of their responsibility, and to get them to vote.
